Story
I made this project for a class in college over the course of two weeks. We were tasked with making a functional mechanism that could be actuated with only one hand. I chose the Scotch yoke. While the mechanism serves no real purpose, I learned a lot about connections and smooth rotation in this project. The use I proposed for the mechanism was as a lime squeezer because the mechanism has a large mechanical advantage towards the end of its cycle it would theoretically squeeze the lemon to the last few drops. The final product has a silky-smooth action, and while it has not squeezed any limes yet, it serves admirably as a stress reliever.
